Candy Hearts

Shake, shake, shake. Hear that? It’s cheesy, mis-printed, chalky candies rattling around in an adorable little pink box. Despite being undoubtedly not as good as so many other candies, they’re still a classic. Most of us remember dumping them out, or digging our fingers in the box to find the ones you could read and that were perfect to give to your bff. When I saw the little box in the grocery store for 39 cents I had to buy it and paint this collection.

 Candy Hearts, with its matte texture, and chalky pastels, is a luxurious nod to classic Valentine’s, lush velvet, and retro hues. Cherry red, bubblegum pink, muted gold. Which color has you dreaming of lipstick shades, chaise lounges, and telephones? You know, the kind you didn’t carry around in your pocket?
